Shoulder Pain in Spinal Cord Injury (SPiSCI)
The mission of the SPiSCI Group is to transform the landscape of how we care for shoulder pain in people with spinal cord injuries. With a broader goal to reduce the disability impact, our group will pursue work to develop, scrutinise, and optimise a model of care for the diagnosis and management of shoulder pain in people with SCI. Concurrently, we will distribute this model of care through academic, clinical and community forums to assist all stakeholders interested in reducing disability from this condition. To pursue this mission, our group’s strategy is as follows:
- Conduct rigorous and transformative academic work to develop a Model of Care for SPiSCI
- Implement educative activities directed at clinicians to assist them in optimising the care of their patients with SCI
- Create and distribute translational resources related to this model of care to assist members of the broader community to ensure people with SCI are receiving best care. This community may include people outside the SCI population.
